St. John of God Health Care Services is owned and operated by the Brothers of St. John of God who have a built a legacy of providing care for the sick and suffering for over 450 years. The mission of the Brothers is to serve those in need while offering hospitality and dignity to restore wellness of the body, mind and spirit.
St. John of God Health Care Services has been providing assistance and services to those who are struggling with addiction, poverty, and various other abuse and withdrawal support services in the High Desert since 1985. Our services include Withdraw Management (previously known as detox), Level 3.1 and 3.5 Residential Services, Intensive and Outpatient Services, a Recovery Center as well as a Transitional Living program and a State Licensed Daycare Facility. All programs are licensed and/or certified by the State of California.
Another component of our multi-faceted organization that we are proud to offer to the community is services through Samaritan’s Helping Hand which operates one of the High Desert’s largest food pantries and the only one accessible to clients five days a week. Samaritan’s also provides utility payment assistance for gas, water, electricity and propane, rental assistance, emergency shelter assistance in the form of motel vouchers, emergency prescription assistance, diapers, formula and baby food for infants, clothing and transportation assistance. This program is located directly next door to our Second Time Around Thrift Store that serves as a vital resource to those who may need assistance in clothing, furniture or other various items, that runs strictly on donations (HINT-HINT).
